“Glycemic index” is a term used to describe how quickly food is converted into sugars by the body. High glycemic foods can convert fast, leading to a rapid increase in insulin production to handle the high sugar load. Over time, this can cause health complications, such as pre-diabetes and diabetes.
Low-glycemic foods keep the body in balance by keeping blood sugar levels normal. Healthy, low-carb foods include non-starchy vegetables such as broccoli, greens, bell peppers, cauliflower, zucchini, summer squash, radishes, and virtually all nuts and seeds.
ZenoBars are made with the best-tasting, most nutritious low net carb ingredients available. We test them on ourselves, as well as other Type-1 and Type-2 diabetics who helped, not only for flavor (fabulous!) but for low-glycemic impact. As you will see in the video below, some Type-1s report that only a very small bolus may be needed, while some of us don’t require any!
